BMC Community Impact
The BMC believes in our local community and is excited to continue to expand our impact.
For the 2009-10 year, the BMC chose the Friends of Cove Park as our local community partner. Through proceeds from our School Fair and Holiday Boutique, we were able to donate $1,000 to their organization to help fund a new community space in Beverly for the benefit of all residents.
In March 2010, the BMC spent a day at Cradles for Crayons volunteering in the Giving Factory. BMC members inspected incoming books, match outfits, sort and test toys, stuff backpacks, or fill orders that meet the needs of individual boys and girls in local communities.
In May 2010, we were thrilled to participate in our first family volunteer project – coordinated by the North Shore United Way (www.nsuw.org) at Beverly Bootstraps where both mothers and children helped sort food donated through the U.S. Postal Services food drive
In Fall 2009, the BMC hosted the 2nd Annual School Information Fair in the Fall that was attended by over 20 local independent and private schools (preschool thru high school). We offer this Fair to assist local families deciding between the myriad of amazing school choices in the nearby surrounding areas.
In 2008, we participated in the Beverly Bootstraps Adopt a Family Holiday Gift Drive and were able to help out families at-need with presents for their children. We also collected monetary donations for the Beverly Bootstraps Gift of Heat and were able to donate $1,000 to that program during a horrific winter of cold and tough economic times.
